The Last Ingredient
Final Deliverable
Intro
"The Last Ingredient" is a 2D animation created by me and three team members in 2023, produced over a five-week period.
The story follows a girl with crab-like hands, cursed by an accident. She discovers a potion recipe that could break the curse, leading her on an adventure to find the elusive final ingredient.

Our team agreed on a Disney-inspired, cartoonish style for this project. My contributions included concept development, background design, coloring, lighting, and special effects. The software I used were Adobe Animate and After Effects.
Process
We firstly create a rough animatic to ensure the right composition and the character movement. Then we started to clean up the scene and preparing for coloring steps.

I focused on adding lighting details that adapt to changes in the background and environment throughout the animation. This involved carefully adjusting light intensity, color, and direction to match the mood and setting of each scene. I used techniques like ambient lighting for softer scenes and dramatic shadows in intense moments, ensuring that the lighting dynamically supports the narrative and visual style of the story.
I incorporated special effects, including glowing and slime transitions, to bring added vibrancy and life to the scenes. These effects enhance the animation’s atmosphere, creating dynamic visual moments that capture the audience's attention and amplify the story’s magical elements.
